Shocked at this summertime unveiling
of my now liberated limbs
Daring to display what was too long protected
by corduroy and denim
Repulsive in the sunlight, this revelation
of skin, like white crepe paper
Aged from youthful abuse/neglect
Overexposed from lacking knowledge
of SPF
Ozone
Tanning, an attraction/addiction
A concentrated task worked on daily
accelerated with self made potions
Now struggling to rid the consequences
of youthful fancies
Trying to breathe life into damaged dermis.
